Code of Conduct for Dragutante

The purpose of Dragutante is to provide a safe stage upon which children under the age of eighteen can express themselves through the performance art of Drag. Every participant, together with staff, volunteers and parents, contributes to the success of this program. Below is an outline of expectations that we ask of all participants, their parents/guardians and program staff.

I, ______________________________________________

(Participant legal name) agree to meet these program expectations:

  • Treat my fellow participants and staff with respect.
  • Plan ahead so that I can arrive on time and participate in all activities.
  • Follow staff, volunteer and guest instructions and raise concerns privately, respectfully and directly to a member of the Dragutante Admin.
  • Share the #Dragutante and @Dragutante tags when I am posting on social media to uplift and promote the organization which I agree to represent in a positive manner which is appropriate for children under the age of eighteen.
  • Send photos of my performances and accomplishments to Dragutante@gmail.com with the intent of Dragutante sharing my image on social media.
  • Tips will always be collected by the Dragutante staff and distributed to performers after the event. Attempts to disregard this policy will not be tolerated.
  • Agree that after the age of eighteen is reached, Dragutante is in no way obliged to promote or allow my child/myself to perform, and that it is up to the discretion of the board to allow/decline stage appearances in connection with Dragutante. I understand that participation/association with Dragutante is a privilege and as such, may be revoked at any time by any member of the Dragutante board effective immediately.
  • Volunteer my time for at least one Dragutante fundraiser or Pride event for one year post event.

The following may result in being dismissed from the program:

  • Bullying, taunting, harassing or using derogatory language towards another person or group of people either in person or on social media.
  • Touching a peer or adult in a physically or sexually aggressive manner.
  • Possessing or being under the influence of alcohol, tobacco, drugs or weapons.
  • Disparaging the event, another participant, board member or staff member online or in social media.
  • “Blasting” or “Calling out” any staff member, performer or volunteer of Dragutante on social media of any kind either in a group or via post.
  • Repeated absences or failure to meet agreed upon program requirements.
  • Failing to cooperate with an adult supervisor/leader/mentor.
  • Sharing personal address or telephone number of a staff member, volunteer, performer or family member with media, social media or any outside party without possession of a release to do so.

What are the consequences if I do not meet expectations of the program?

  • Some behaviors may result in immediate suspension or termination which will be determined at the discretion of the Dragutante Board.

As the parent/guardian I will support my child’s participation in this program by:

  • Making arrangements so my child is able to attend as many Dragutante events as possible.
  • Volunteer at a minimum of one Dragutante fundraiser following the calendar year after my child performs with Dragutante.
  • Not making inappropriate requests of staff that conflict with program guidelines.
  • Working together with program staff to resolve issues that arise with my child.

Program staff commit to:

  • Respectful and effective communication with all participants and their parents.
  • Helping participants and staff have a safe and fun experience.
  • Addressing problems that are brought to our attention.

Everyone contributes to the success of this program!
