Lila Skye performed at our very first event in 2018, and has grown with the program into a QUEEN! Don't let her sweet personality and wholesome vibe fool you, Lila is FIERCE onstage! You'll want to call your friends because you're going to be GAGA about her!
In 2017 when Jameson (Ophelia Peaches) was only 13 years old, they asked their mom for a drag themed birthday.
Robin was unfazed, and embraced the idea wholeheartedly. She asked her friends in the Queer community to help her to make Jameson's birthday into a Cinderella evening, so with a rhinestone tiara and a pink prom dress, Ophelia was born! Our beloved Hamburger Mary's hosted the festivities and made her evening sparkle, but the biggest present hadn't been given yet... Ophelia was surprised with a very special backstage pass to meet famous Drag Queens: Chad Michaels and Ginger Douglas!
On their way home from her fabulous adventure, Ophelia turned to her mother and declared "Mama... I feel more ME than I ever have".
It was that very moment that Robin knew there must be other children like Ophelia, and she made it her mission to create a safe place for them to be themselves.
The following summer, Dragutante held our first all-day event at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. Our cast has grown every year since then, and even been featured on national and international television!
Jameson has gone from a shy child who felt shame and embarrassment because of who they were, into a fearless public speaker, queer civil rights activist and mentor. The joy that they felt the night they first explored Drag is a moment that they want to share with others, both on and off stage.
Tonight is a full-circle moment. Many of our early Dragutantes have grown into confident young adults who are excited to mentor the next generation of performers.
Wait a second! Did you know that Drag is more than just Drag Race on TV?
YES!
Drag performers can be Queens, Kings, Androgynous , Hyper/Bio, Non-Binary...
They can do comedy, emcee, dance, sing, goth, club, pageant, Ballroom, camp, looks...
there's so many!
We believe that ALL DRAG IS VALID, and we celebrate the personal expression which every young performer chooses to explore.

Noah Burgan is a young transgender woman from Denver, Colorado. For as long as Noah can remember, art has always been a big part of her life.
" I love painting, sewing, drawing and using many other forms of art to express myself. Art is very relaxing and a lot of fun to create and discover parts of myself. I hope to go to art school when I graduate high school so I can continue doing what I'm passionate about for my job. I hope that my art can provide comfort and can allow people to feel seen and understood because I think that it is so important to be represented. Most of my work is about struggling with gender identity, body dysphoria and what it's like to be a teenager falling in and out of love.
